⭐️ What's new
For the first time, you can create and publish Appcues experiences that live directly inside your product UI, right alongside your native dashboards, panels, and features.
Think guided tours, announcements, contextual help, or full empty-state takeovers that look and feel like they were built in from day one.
📌 What are Embeds?
Embeds are a new type of Appcues experience that live inside your product rather than on top of it. Existing Appcues patterns — Modals, Tooltips, Banners, etc. — are overlaid on top of your product. Embeds go a layer deeper, living inline so the experience feels native, not interruptive — letting you personalize parts of your product you could never touch before without engineering.
And advanced styling and custom CSS mean you can match your product's look exactly, or build something that deliberately stands out and grabs attention.

🙌 What you can do with Embeds
  • Empty states:
Replace static, blank, or complicated screens with something useful — guided next steps, onboarding prompts, or a CTA that moves users forward.
  • Contextual help panels:
Surface personalized tips and best practices inside the relevant section of your product, right when users need them.
  • What's new carousels:
Announce updates right alongside the feature they're related to, so users have full context when it matters most.
  • Persistent callouts:
Keep key actions or resources visible in a sidebar or panel without relying on users to seek them out.
  • Always-on campaigns:
Promote webinars, events, or other initiatives in a dedicated spot — visible to the right users, on their own timeline.
🚀 Ready to get started?
Embeds are available on all updated and some legacy Appcues plans. Reach out to your CSM if you're unsure about access, and check out our support docs if you hit any bumps in the road while building.
There are three ways to build an Embed in Appcues:
  1. Chrome Extension: Open Appcues in your browser and create an Embed on top of your product
  2. Captain AI: Describe what you want and let AI build a first draft for you
  3. Studio: The new Appcues building experience, designed to be faster and easier to use
Watch them in action below. First, see the Chrome Extension used to replace a static empty state with the beginning of an embedded onboarding tour for new users. Then, see Studio used to publish a release update that shows up right alongside the feature it's about. 👇
